1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and The Not Boring Company (Pty) Ltd, registered in South Africa ("we", "us"), for your use of RetroCast at retrocast.delivery. By signing in or using RetroCast you accept these terms. If you use RetroCast on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept them for that organisation.
2. The service
RetroCast turns sprint retrospectives into AI-generated, film-style frames featuring your team. RetroCast is currently in active development; features may change, and from time to time the service may be modified, interrupted, or unavailable. Image generation depends on third-party AI models whose behaviour and availability we do not control.
3. Accounts
You sign in with a Google account and must be at least 18. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
4. Credits
- Rendering a reel costs one credit. A credit covers every frame in that reel — including the ice breaker, action items frame, and your retries — subject to a generous fair-use frame budget per reel and a 24-hour render window.
- Credits have no cash value, are not transferable between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money except as set out in the Credits & Refunds policy.
- Purchased credits do not expire. Free credits granted during beta or promotions may be adjusted or withdrawn with reasonable notice.
- Purchases are processed by Paddle as merchant of record — Paddle is the seller of record and handles payment, applicable taxes, invoicing, and refunds in line with our refunds policy. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
- Deleting your account forfeits any remaining credits.
5. Your content
- You keep all rights to the photos and information you upload. You grant us the limited licence needed to store and process them solely to provide the service (including sending photos to our AI provider at render time).
- You warrant that every person whose photo you upload has given you their permission for that photo to be used in RetroCast to generate stylised frames for your team. Do not upload photos of people who haven't agreed, and never of anyone under 18.
- Do not upload or generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit, or that impersonates real people for deception.
6. Generated frames
- Frames are generated for your team's internal use — retrospectives, team documents, and team spaces. They are AI output: quality and likeness vary, and you are responsible for how you use them.
- Frames are styled as homage to cinematic genres and films. RetroCast is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any film studio or rights holder, and frames must not be used commercially or in ways that suggest such affiliation.
- As between you and us, you own the generated frames for your permitted use; we claim no rights over them and do not store them server-side.
7. Acceptable use
You must not attempt to bypass authentication, credit enforcement, or rate limits; probe or disrupt the service; scrape or bulk-download content; resell access; or use the service to build a competing dataset. We may suspend accounts engaged in abuse and, in serious cases, cancel remaining credits.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we process — including team photos — and your rights under POPIA and GDPR. It forms part of these terms.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: RetroCast is provided "as is"; we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation; and our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act or equivalent consumer law where you live.
10. Termination
You can stop using RetroCast at any time and delete your account from the account menu (this permanently removes your data — see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged in the app and the effective date updated. Continued use after a change means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
